Starting treatment

If you and your doctor decide to begin treatment with INVEGA SUSTENNA®, your doctor may give you a test dose with an oral medication before starting you on a regular treatment schedule. It depends on your past treatment history.

Treatment schedule

Your doctor or Treatment Team member will give you your injections as follows:

  • You receive your first starting dose in the upper arm
  • About 1 week later, you receive your second starting dose in the upper arm
  • After that, you receive your dose every 4 weeks in the upper arm or buttocks

Remember: It's important to keep all of your appointments and get your injections on time. Missing injections of INVEGA SUSTENNA® could cause your symptoms to return. If you miss an injection appointment, talk to your doctor as soon as possible so he or she can decide next steps.

Dosing

INVEGA SUSTENNA® is available in 4 different dosages for the treatment of schizoaffective disorder. Your doctor will decide which dose you need and will monitor your progress to see if your dose should be adjusted. It’s important to let your doctor and Treatment Team know how you’re feeling.
